BML reshuffles four executive roles for six months

Bank of Maldives (BML) has made changes to its management structure, reassigning four members of its executive team to new roles for the next six months.

Under the changes, Aishath Zamra Zahir has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer, Moosa Nimal as Chief Marketing Officer, Rashfa Jaufar as Chief Risk Officer, and Gary Lawton as Chief Credit Officer. The bank said the move is aimed at strengthening accountability and speeding up services delivered to customers.

BML’s CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said the bank is currently in a strong financial position, and that the purpose of the changes is to enhance customer services and accelerate the bank’s growth. He also noted that giving experienced leaders exposure to areas related to their own fields is a major benefit for the institution as a whole, and reflects the importance the bank places on developing skilled Maldivian leaders at every level.

BML noted that the changes have been made in line with the long-term strategic goals set out to support the bank’s sustainable growth and to further strengthen its relationships with customers. As this is an internal management change, the bank added that there will be no changes to the products and services offered to customers, or to the procedures through which they transact.

Approved by the Board of Directors, the new structure takes effect today.
