President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that Islam has been, is, and will remain the security of the Maldivian nation — yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

In a post on “X” congratulating Maldivians on the occasion of the day the Maldives embraced Islam, the President said that 900 years have now passed since the bright light of Islam illuminated the hearts of Maldivians. Throughout generation after generation, Maldivians have lived believing that the strongest pillar of Maldivian nationhood is Islam. He also expressed praise and gratitude to Almighty Allah for this great blessing.

The President recalled that Maldivians have always held firmly to Islamic culture and principles in their conduct, customs, and dealings, and that they have waged jihad in the path of Allah against every enemy who rose against Islam and the independence of this nation. He further noted that the main reason behind every victory, civilizational advancement, and prosperity that Maldivians achieved during the past nine Hijri centuries has also been Islam.

Concluding his message, the President prayed that Allah keep Maldivians as Muslims forever, and that through Islam He grant this homeland increased protection and honor.
