The Prosecutor General’s Office has filed defamation charges at the Criminal Court against Eesha Ashraf, a former employee of the President’s Office, in connection with the “Aisha” documentary released by Adhadhu.

The documentary, published on March 28, is alleged to have defamed President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. Eesha is accused of providing information for the documentary with her voice altered to conceal her identity.

Police have taken her statement in the case and withheld her passport. However, details of the charges against her have not been disclosed.

Defamation charges have also been filed against Adhadhu CEO Hussain Fiyaz Moosa and editor Hassan Mohamed over the same documentary. Their trial is being held behind closed doors.
