Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has today resigned from his position as Principal Secretary to the President on Policy and Manifesto at the President’s Office.
Nazim, who was appointed to the position at ministerial rank this past June, has not disclosed a specific reason for his resignation.
In the current administration, Nazim first served as Principal Secretary for Public Policy at the President’s Office. He was subsequently appointed as Health Minister on September 30, 2024, but resigned from that position on April 14 of this year.
Nazim, of Bodufendaage in Lh. Hinnavaru, previously held the position of Health Minister during President Yameen’s administration. He also contested for the Hinnavaru constituency seat in the People’s Majlis, but was unsuccessful in securing the seat.
It is noteworthy that following the local council elections held this past April, 10 ministers resigned from their positions. Some of them have since been appointed to senior positions within the government.
