Former Presidents Mohamed Nasheed and Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom need to take lessons from the political book that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is studying, said PNC Parliamentary Group Leader and Inguraidhoo Constituency MP Ibrahim Falah.

Speaking at a rally held tonight at the PNC haruge (party headquarters), Falah said that the dollar rate, which had risen to MVR 23, is now coming down, and within a short period the price will drop back to what it was when this government took office. Responding to economic experts who had claimed the dollar rate would not change, Falah said the way the economy and politics operated in the world previously is very different from how they operate today.

Regarding Yameen, Falah said that although he has money, he lives at home wearing a mundu (sarong) and wrapped in a blanket playing cards. He said Nasheed spent the past five years living in Ghana, and because of this, neither of the two leaders clearly understands the changes taking place in the Maldives’ political landscape. Falah said that unless both leaders take lessons from the political book President Muizzu is studying, they will not be able to move forward.

Noting that no president who has come to power in the Maldives since 2008 has won a second term, Falah said this is something political parties and former leaders need to study very deeply. He added that although the MDP, Yameen, and many others hungry for power had worked to destroy the 20th Parliament, all PNC members are standing firmly with President Muizzu. Falah also said that President Muizzu always advises against using vulgar language toward Yameen.
