Former MDP president and former Foreign Minister of the Maldives Abdulla Shahid, who is currently on a campaign trip to HDh. Kulhudhuffushi City, today carried out wide-ranging door-to-door activities in the city.

According to Shahid’s campaign team, the activities were conducted after dividing senior members of the campaign team into different groups, who then visited various parts of the island. During these visits, the team gathered residents’ views and feedback, and shared information about Shahid’s political work with the public, the campaign team stated.

In addition, a special campaign rally is scheduled to be held in Kulhudhuffushi City tonight. The campaign team has also arranged for door-to-door activities to continue in Kulhudhuffushi City tomorrow.

So far, those who have announced they will contest the MDP presidential primary — expected to be held next year — are the party’s former president Shahid and the party’s former Chairperson Fayyaz Ismail. There have also been reports that former President Solih will contest the presidential primary, though he has not officially announced this.
