Following the deaths of two children in two separate incidents, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called for strengthening public awareness and safety measures.

In a post on social media, President Muizzu said that the death of a child injured in an accident two days ago, and the subsequent death of a toddler who fell from a building, are incidents that have brought deep sorrow to the entire community.

He extended his condolences to the families of the two children and prayed that they be granted eternal blessings of paradise.

The President noted that in order to prevent such incidents, everyone must work together with collective participation to strengthen safety measures on roads and in tall buildings.

He particularly called for greater attention to safety measures for windows, balconies, and railings of tall buildings.

Additionally, President Muizzu called on families and building caretakers to take proactive measures to protect children, people suffering from mental illness, and persons with disabilities.

He also urged the government, companies, civil society organizations, and individuals to work together to strengthen safety measures and to conduct planned public awareness programs.
