President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has assured the Egyptian government that the Maldives will work closely with Egypt across a wide range of sectors, including defence and security.

The President gave this assurance during a farewell call paid on him this morning at the President’s Office by Adel Ibrahim, Egypt’s Non-Resident Ambassador to the Maldives, as the Ambassador concluded his tenure.

At the meeting, the President said that the Maldivian government remains committed to working with Egypt in key sectors such as culture, tourism, education, and defence. He also thanked Ambassador Adel Ibrahim for his efforts to further strengthen the ties between the two countries during his term.

In addition, the President thanked the Egyptian government for the scholarship opportunities being extended to Maldivian students for higher education, as well as for the services provided by Egyptian professionals working in the Maldives’ health sector.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries in the future.
