The MDP President met with some members of the Malé City Council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and members of MDP’s Women’s Wing (Anhenunge Rooh), and held discussions on the advancement and development of women.

At tonight’s meeting, wide-ranging discussions were held on eliminating the challenges women still face in the political, social, and economic spheres, increasing women’s participation in building the nation’s future, and the important work needed to ensure women secure the rightful place they deserve.

The MDP President welcomed and thanked the women who participated in the meeting for the creative ideas they shared.

Advancing women’s rights and increasing their participation in the political and social spheres is noted as an important effort that MDP has always been carrying forward.

MDP President Abdulla Shahid is currently campaigning to contest in the party’s upcoming presidential primary.
