President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that Major General (Retired) Moosa Ali Jaleel, who is running for Mayor of Male’ City on the ruling PNC ticket, is the individual capable of realizing the government’s development vision for Male’ to the fullest extent and at a rapid pace. Speaking at a spirited campaign rally held at the PNC hub, the President highlighted that the primary objective of fielding Moosa Ali Jaleel for this election is to bring a strong figure to the leadership of the council who will work sincerely in collaboration with the government to fulfill its pledges.
The President explained that he decided to offer this opportunity to Moosa Ali Jaleel because he is an experienced figure in national service and a patriot. Noting that Jaleel’s decision to accept this responsibility at his request was a source of great satisfaction, the President expressed his gratitude to him. Signaling that campaign activities for the upcoming election would be further strengthened, the President stated that he would visit households in Male’ to meet with residents, adding that the experience he gained during his own time as Mayor of Male’ gives him a very close understanding of the people’s situation.
Speaking at the rally, the President highlighted the massive housing projects currently being undertaken by the government, stating that having a trustworthy council that fully cooperates with the government is mandatory to successfully complete such major works. Furthermore, emphasizing the importance of expanding the role of the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), the President revealed the decision to change the post of the Committee’s President to a full-time position elected directly by the people in the future. Concluding his remarks, the President requested the people to vote for the government’s candidates to accelerate the speed of Male’s development.
