Retired but still driven by service, says Jaleel

Former Defense Minister Moosa Ali Jaleel, who is running for Male City Mayor on the ruling PNC ticket, has stated that although he retired from state service after many years, his body still holds the spirit and determination for national service, and this is not the time to sit quietly at home.

Moosa Ali Jaleel made these remarks while speaking at the ceremony held to officially open his campaign office located beneath Dhonmaniku Sky View, in preparation for the local council elections scheduled for April. Speaking at the ceremony, which was graced by Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef, Moosa Ali Jaleel said that when President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu met with Male residents and listened to their concerns, it had a profound impact on him as well. He noted that after dedicating himself to national service, he questioned himself whether it was appropriate to “stay at home” during a time when citizens were facing difficulties.

With his extensive experience in service, Moosa Ali Jaleel said he stepped forward with determination to work alongside President Muizzu to realize his vision. He assured that if elected as Male’s Mayor, he would remain in the service of the people 24 hours a day and would work in a national spirit to make Male a comfortable and happy place.

The Elections Commission has now opened the opportunity to contest in the by-elections scheduled for April 4. According to Moosa Ali Jaleel, he is entering this election with the noble determination of prioritizing the nation’s interests and the welfare and benefits of the people, just as he has done in every responsibility he has undertaken thus far.
