Adam Azim has stated that after winning the MDP primary for the Male’ City Mayorship, his next highest priority is to win the entire Local Council Election for the party, followed by securing victory in the upcoming 2028 Presidential Election.
Speaking at a special ceremony held tonight to celebrate his significant primary victory, Azim expressed gratitude to the members who supported him and the team active in his campaign. Azim described this achievement not merely as a personal victory, but as a triumph for the entire MDP.
Noting that the most important task right now is to set aside internal party rivalry and emerge as a united front, Azim invited the candidates who competed against him, along with their teams, to work together to secure the Male’ Mayorship and council seats for the MDP.
Addressing the political landscape of the Maldives, Azim remarked that citizens will remain in a state of hardship as long as the MDP is not in power. Therefore, he stated that one of his greatest resolves is to move forward with this momentum, and through collective effort, regain governance for the MDP in 2028 to steer the nation back onto the right path.
Assuring that he will work to resolve the major issues facing Male’ City and provide the “better Male'” that citizens desire, Azim affirmed that he will always remain with the MDP and that he fully embraces the positive changes the party has brought to the nation.
