Former MP Ali Azim has conceded defeat in the primary held today to select the MDP candidate for Male’ City Mayor in the upcoming Local Council Elections and has congratulated the winner, current Mayor Adam Azim.

Provisional results from the election show that Adam Azim secured the ticket by winning over Ali Azim with a significant margin. Once the results became clear, Ali Azim called Adam Azim tonight to offer his congratulations. Sharing a video of the phone call on “X,” he stated that he always wishes for MDP’s success.

During the call, Adam Azim requested Ali Azim to work together with everyone to ensure victory for MDP in the upcoming council election. Responding to the request, Ali Azim gave his assurance that, God willing, he would work towards that goal.
