Lieutenant General (Retired) Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef, appointed as the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Maldives to Russia, has presented his credentials to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The credentials presentation ceremony was held at the Grand Kremlin Palace in Moscow, the capital of Russia. During the ceremony, Ambassador Abdul Raheem officially handed over his credentials to President Putin. As stated by the Foreign Ministry, following the presentation, the Ambassador conveyed greetings and well wishes from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to President Putin.

Abdul Raheem is a distinguished figure who served in the Maldives National Defence Force for a long period, holding high-ranking positions. President Dr. Muizzu appointed him to the post of Ambassador to Russia in March of last year.

Abdul Raheem currently serves as the Ambassador of the Maldives to Turkey. Therefore, he will fulfill his duties as the Ambassador to Russia as a Non-Resident Ambassador, based in Turkey.
