Illegal businesses closed, seven foreigners detained in raid

In a special joint operation conducted by the police and relevant institutions, two businesses being operated illegally by expatriates were halted, and seven individuals were taken into Immigration custody.

The police revealed that during this operation—conducted in collaboration with Immigration, Customs, and the Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA)—a total of five locations were inspected, two of which were closed after being issued notices.

Police stated that this measure is part of a series of ongoing efforts to locate undocumented expatriates in the Maldives, repatriate them, and ensure the nation’s economic and social security.
