Jaishān Saeed of R. Alifushi/Kināra, who worked with Hassan Mamduh (Mandey) in the crime of deceiving and selling K Park flats to a large number of people, was sentenced by the Criminal Court today to 159 years in prison.
A total of 89 charges were proven against Jaishān, including 41 charges of committing fraud, 44 charges of participating in a scheme, one charge of aiding money laundering, and three charges of providing false documents with intent to deceive. After deducting time served in detention, Jaishān must spend 159 years, 5 months, and 14 days in prison.
The main accused in this case, Mandey, was sentenced to 397 years in prison after 94 charges were proven against him. This is the longest prison sentence ever issued in the Maldives. Additionally, Mandey was fined 30 million rufiyaa, and the court ordered that his penthouse in Hulhumalé be seized by the state.
K Park apartments were sold to a large number of people through fraud and deception without the knowledge of Hamboo Company, which constructed the building, the company stated in 2023. It has been proven that Mandey played the principal role in committing this crime and that Jaishān assisted him in the operation.
