Former President Mohamed Nasheed and MDP President Abdulla Shahid met last night at Shahid’s residence H. Rabeeuge. Details of what the two leaders discussed during this meeting have not been disclosed.

The meeting took place during the heated campaign period for MDP’s primary ahead of the upcoming Local Council elections. Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said he will meet with President Nasheed during the election campaign. This meeting between President Shahid and President Nasheed comes at a time when rivalry between President Nasheed and President Solih has resurfaced within MDP.
