Hussein Shifau sentenced to 109 years for telegraphic fraud

Hussein Shifau has been sentenced to 109 years in prison for fraudulent telegraphic transfers involving foreign companies. All 23 charges filed by the Prosecutor General’s Office against Shifau were proven.

The sentence includes 70 years for money laundering, 30 years for fraud and deception, and 9 years for providing false documents. Shifau’s defense requested house arrest or partial house arrest, with his lawyer arguing that Shifau is a responsible person with no criminal record since this case.

Hussein Shifau was previously appointed as Senior Political Director at the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare by the current government but was suddenly dismissed from the position.
