52 massage parlors shut down in past week

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu stated that 52 massage parlors have been closed down within the past week. The President made this statement during a meeting held with the residents of Galolhu constituency. The President said this work is an initiative started by the government in response to public opinion to stop illicit businesses.

According to President Muizzu, this work began on the 9th of this month as a special operation with additional resources. Through this operation, 24 establishments were directly shut down. Additionally, the President revealed that once relevant authorities began conducting this operation together, those running these businesses voluntarily closed 28 establishments themselves.

The President said that starting this work so comprehensively in such a short period has yielded very good results. “A special operation with additional resources started on the 9th of this month. As of today, 52 massage parlors have been closed. Starting this work so comprehensively in such a short period, based on public feedback, has produced good results. This work will continue. Day and night,” President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu stated.

Furthermore, the President said that work is also ongoing to deport foreigners staying illegally during inspections and approvals of such establishments. Accordingly, approximately 10 people have been arrested, and President Dr. Muizzu stated that work is proceeding to deport them through proper procedures. The President further stated that the government has decided to continue this work day and night.
