As illegally parked vehicles in Hulhumale are being towed, police have announced that owners will be given 60 days to reclaim their vehicles. Police have also stated that vehicles not collected within this period will be disposed of through legal procedures.
The towing operation, which began on the 6th of this month, is being carried out in accordance with a special announcement gazetted on the 1st of this month, removing illegally parked vehicles from vacant lots and roads, as well as unregistered vehicles.
According to police, owners can reclaim their vehicles by paying all fines and then traveling to Thilafushi with a slip obtained from the Hulhumale Phase 1 Police Station. Police have also confirmed they will ensure vehicles are taken to their registered zones. Towed vehicles will be publicly announced after 7 days, and vehicles not collected after the subsequent 60-day period will be disposed of.
