Police Tow 787 Illegally Parked Vehicles in Hulhumale

Police have announced that a total of 787 vehicles were towed during an operation conducted to clear illegally parked vehicles and unregistered vehicles from Hulhumale’s roads to ease traffic flow.

The operation, which took place from the 6th to the 11th of this month in Hulhumale Phase 1 and Phase 2, included 252 vehicles parked in zones not matching their registration, 186 unregistered vehicles or vehicles without number plates, and 349 abandoned vehicles left on the streets. These vehicles, parked on vacant lots and public roads, had been causing significant traffic difficulties.

The operation was carried out with assistance from relevant authorities, government-owned companies, and private companies. As a result, some have noted an improvement in traffic flow on Hulhumale’s roads. Police have thanked the public for their cooperation and stated that continued public support is needed to maintain these improvements.
