Finance Minister Hassan Zareer has held talks with Qatar’s Finance Minister Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari on expanding economic ties between the Maldives and Qatar and finding new investment opportunities.

The two ministers met in Qatar’s capital, Doha, in connection with the ongoing annual meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

The Finance Ministry said the meeting covered ways to further strengthen trade and economic relations between the two countries. The ministers also discussed developing the private sector and identifying new areas of investment that would benefit both countries, according to the ministry.
