Supporters clap in a manner as polished and refined as the applause seen in North Korea whenever President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s name is mentioned, according to People’s National Congress (PNC) Parliamentary Group Leader Ibrahim Falah.

Speaking at a rally held at PNC’s main headquarters last night, Falah said that the applause supporters give when President Muizzu’s name is mentioned clearly reflects the sincere love the public holds for him in their hearts. He also noted that the way supporters clap during former President Abdulla Yameen’s speeches reveals their displeasure toward him, and described that manner of clapping as very poor.

While Falah praised Muizzu’s supporters’ applause by likening it to the North Korean style, North Korea is one of the most repressive, authoritarian, and communist-ruled countries in the world. The applause and praise shown to leaders there is widely regarded by the international community as coerced rather than genuine.

Falah further stated that today, from PNC’s leadership down to its ordinary members, one can see great smiles and happiness on their faces.
