Abdulla Shahid, who is campaigning for the MDP presidential primary, has said that what he will deliver is an experienced government that gets things done, finds solutions, and produces results.

Shahid, who launched his campaign in Addu over the weekend, said on social media today that he will transform the development of Addu and the future of the entire south, which have remained only a headline.

God willing, what I will deliver is an experienced government that will act, find solutions, and produce results.”
Shahid, who served as Foreign Minister in the MDP government, is currently working to build support for the presidential primary.
Abdulla Shahid served as President of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly from 2021 to 2022, earning the distinction of being the first Maldivian elected to that post. Having held senior state positions for more than 40 years, Shahid has also served as Speaker of the People’s Majlis (Parliament). He is a figure who has made major contributions to international diplomacy, the democratic system of governance, and the reform of the Maldivian Constitution.
