President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the Thilamale Bridge project is a project that this government started from scratch and is being carried forward, and that the project will be completed soon.
Speaking on “The Pulse” podcast produced by the President’s Office, the President said that although the bridge project had been initiated, no adequate work had been carried out during the two years of the previous government. He said that this government took over the project at a time when not even any physical work had been started between Male’ and Villimale’.
The President gave assurance that if the project continues at its current pace, it will be completed without delay. He also noted that the project is progressing at a rapid pace due to the full cooperation of the Indian government and the close relationship between the two countries.
The President said that under this project, the work of connecting Male’ and Villimale’ is nearly complete, while the work of connecting Villimale’ and Gulhifalhu is also nearing completion. He further assured that next year will be the year in which the major projects launched by the government will be completed.
