President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the government’s youth empowerment projects will be completed by the first quarter of 2028, providing a lasting solution to the challenges faced by young people.

Speaking on the fifth episode of “The Pulse,” a podcast produced by the President’s Office, the President said that young people play a vital role in building the nation’s economy, and therefore the youth sector is among the areas given the highest priority by this government.

“The youth sector is a key priority area for this government. Young people are one side of the nation in building the country’s economy. In this regard, we are carrying out various programmes and projects to empower young people,” the President said.

The President said that in order to economically empower youth, the government is already facilitating various loan schemes, employment opportunities, and avenues for self-employment income. He also noted that work is underway to expand the creative economy sector with a special focus on youth.

The President highlighted that projects are also underway across all parts of the Maldives to improve the educational standards of young people and to build a healthy society by providing opportunities to play sports. He further stated that comprehensive policies have been formulated to ensure not only the physical wellbeing but also the mental wellbeing of youth, and work is being structured under those policies.

According to the President, as these projects progress as planned and reach the first quarter of 2028, the development projects targeted at youth will be successfully completed. He assured that with this, a lasting solution will be found to the challenges young people face today.
