In connection with the start of the new academic year, President of the Republic Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reminded that teaching and learning is a religious and national noble duty placed upon our shoulders. In an address delivered via social media, the President stated that obtaining a bright future for the nation depends on all parties in the education sector working together with sincerity. Therefore, he emphasized that everyone should work as one in fulfilling this great responsibility.
As the new year begins, the President extended congratulations to education officials, teachers, parents, and all students, wishing them success. He also prayed that the country’s schools become safe and comfortable environments that build children with good character and beautiful morals.
Classes in the new academic year that started today have begun in 218 government schools, and according to Education Ministry statistics, more than 77,000 students will attend schools. It is notable that more than 10,500 teachers will remain in service to facilitate the education of these students.
