The mayoral campaign office of Moosa Ali Jaleel, former Defence Minister contesting for Male City mayor on the ruling PNC ticket in the council elections to be held on April 4, was opened tonight.
Vice President Hussein Mohamed Latheef and People’s Majlis Speaker Abdur Raheem Abdullah participated in a special ceremony held tonight at this campaign office, which was opened on the ground floor of the PNC office located opposite Artificial Beach.
Speaking at the ceremony, Moosa Ali Jaleel said that this office is not just his campaign office, and that all candidates contesting on behalf of PNC in the council elections can use the venue.
While competition for Male’s mayor is intensifying, current Mayor Adam Azim is contesting on the opposition MDP ticket and former Tender Board member Ismail Zariyandhu is contesting independently. Moosa Ali Jaleel, who served 32 years in the military field, is a former Chief of Defence Force and served as Defence Minister during former President Yameen’s administration.
