Vice President of the Republic Hussein Mohamed Latheef has stated that what Male City needs most at this moment is a capable mayor who can work in sync with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s development speed. He said this while speaking at the ceremony held to open the campaign office of PNC candidate Moosa Ali Jaleel, who is contesting for the Male City Council mayoral position.

At this gathering, the Vice President highlighted that the people should choose leaders who love the nation and who will assist the development projects being carried out by the government. He said that the people do not want those who, in the name of holding the government accountable, would obstruct and hinder development work, and that the role of councils should be to facilitate providing services to the people in collaboration with the government. The Vice President noted that the President also wants people who will work in this manner.

Reviewing the current state of Male City, the Vice President said that while Male is the most visited place in the Maldives, there are many issues in this city that need to be resolved. These include traffic congestion and overcrowding, and establishing security and peace. He also said that Male needs to be made into a safe place with certain standards and principles maintained, easy for walking and running.

At this ceremony, the Vice President called upon the people of Male to vote for Moosa Ali Jaleel and candidates contesting on the PNC ticket. Since Moosa Ali Jaleel is coming forward with a strong team that can implement President Muizzu’s vision, he called on voters to elect government candidates for Male’s development.
