Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has organized an event to support the Maldives Autism Association as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The event was held yesterday, as per the ongoing activities of the World Autism Awareness Month which includes an airport tour and a fundraising program.
The event was participated by altogether 14 students. 3 teachers took part at the airport tour at Velana International Airport.
MACL informed that children were excited to see how the ramp operations and flight handling were done at the Ramp area. They also visited our Airport Emergency Services station which the students were given the opportunity to explore and interact with the fire and rescue team along with the fire vehicles. They were also allowed to wear fire and rescue uniforms and get inside the airport fire vehicles.
The tour concluded with a small function held at an Airport Recreation Center, where students were given special gifts from MACL.
In addition to the airport tour, earlier in the month MACL organised a fundraising program, where the Maldives Autism Association was given the opportunity to sell their merchandise at airport facilities. MACL stated that the program was a great success, with raising funds to support the association in their efforts to raise awareness about autism in the Maldives.
MACL’s CSR programs are designed to support vulnerable communities in the Maldives, and the company keeps continuing its efforts to make a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most.
