Ground breaking ceremony for Villingili Flat Project held

On Tuesday, January 17, the government has held the ground breaking ceremony of the housing flats to be developed in Gaafu Alifu atoll Vilingili.

The ground breaking ceremony was attended by the The Minister of State for National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, Akram Kamaluddin, VIlingili MP Saud Hussain, and council members from the Island.

Dhonbyez Private Limited is the contractor fpr the design and build of 50 housing flats streched across 700 square feet. The contract was awarded earlier in June 2022. The government budgeted MVR 48 million under Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP) for this project.

The flats will be equipped with three bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms in each room, a dining room and kitchen, laundry, storage, and a balcony in each apartment. The flats are row houses elevated to two stories.

The project is coupled with developing a parking zone and a park neighbouring the row house flats for which the same contractor is assigned, as a part of the same project.
