Kulhudhuffushi MP endorses Nasheed, withdrawing his support to President Solih

North Kulhudhuffushi MP Yasir Abdul Latheef has announced his withdrawal of support to President Solih, endorsing MDP President Mohamed Nasheed in the upcoming MDP primary, scheduled for January 28.

MP Yasir Abdullatheef, previously a supporter of President Solih’s faction, expressed his dissatisfaction for slow implementation of projects and weak policies witnessed for the past 4 years.

In a tweet he highlighted that he had supported the current administration in his fullest capacity as a Member of Parliament, but only to witness the slow pace of on ongoing development projects in Kulhuduffushi City.

He also stated that, despite having his maximum corporation for president Solih’s administration, he has only seen extremely slow execution of projects at Kulhudhuffushi City.

Mohamed Nasheed has my full endorsement as the MDP’s candidate for president in 2023, & I’ve withdrawn my support for President Solih.

MDP has scheduled their presidential primary election for 26th January, 2023.
