Chief Justice Ahmed Mautasim Adnan has urged all judges of the country to rule without discrimination while pronouncing judgments. The Chief Justice made the appeal at the inauguration of the new building of Himandhoo Magistrate’s Court.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Justice said that the delivery of justice is a herculean task and therefore, the judges should work wisely to deliver justice. The Chief Justice noted that the judicial cases are not decided on its own mind and that the laws and regulations of the country are taken into consideration in the most fair manner. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Justice said that the judges are working very hard to ensure justice.
AA. The Himandhoo Magistrate Court building was handed over to Regional Builders Private Limited on June 22 this year. Earlier, the magistrate court was functioning in a small space allotted by the island office to run the court. Earlier, the court used to function in a portion of two rooms, a small living room and a toilet.
However, the newly constructed court building has the space and resources required to conduct trials in a manner that is reflected by law. The new building has a space to archive judicial documents, a reception area to make it easier to serve the public, and a waiting area. The Chief Justice lauded the hard work put in by the judges in ensuring justice.
