Sandhanu Ahammaidhee (72), a famous writer, passed away this morning.
Sandhaanu has been a magazine focusing on various areas of concern in the country, was a famous tabloid Ahammaidhee wrote earlier days of his carrier. It was considered to be the most outspoken voice against the totalitarianism regime in the Maldives that suppressed the democracy in the Maldives under President Maumoon.
Sandhaanu withstood against every adversity with determination. The then regime was not able to silence the voice of it, even though the entire team was subjected to life imprisonment. Sandhaanu Ahammaidhee stood for justice and equality in the society.
