Vice President of Maldives Broadcasting Commission (BroadCom) Ahmed Gais has resigned as member of Commission.
Gais was appointed to the Commission in 2019, and was assigned for sitting Vice Presidents on December 5, the same year. Gais resigned, effective Sunday, BroadCom confirmed.
Gais later in a tweet stated he resigned for an important personal reason and affirmed his support for president Solih’s ongoing presidential primary campaign.

Gais’s resignation left the BroadCom with the following 6 members:
- Mariyam Waheeda, President
- Amjadh Yoosuf, Member
- Ali Yoosuf, Member
- Aminath Ameena, Member
- Mohamed Fazeen, Member
- Shifla Ibrahim, Member
It is unclear when his replacement would be made for the vacant position at BroadCom.
