Maldives Inland Revenue Authority has collected MVR 9 billion as Goods and Services Tax (GST) vy the end of December 22, reports Ministry of Finance.

Finance Ministry also reported, out of the collective GST, MVR 6.1 billion was earned from Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST) and MVR 2.95 billion in General Goods and Services Tax (GGST).

A total of MVR 4.2 billion was collected as Business and Property Tax by same period ended.

The following earnings were reported from the tax earnings:

1. MVR 2.1 billion in Business Profit Tax (BPT).

2. MVR 883.8 million in Withholding Tax.

3. MVR 314.3 million in Individual Income Tax.

4. MVR 904.9 million in other business and property taxes.

The Government also collected MVR 3.3 billion as Import Duties.

Finance Ministry also reported that among other major tax revenue categories ,include Green Tax accumulation reached total of MVR 922.2 million by the review date, and Airport Service Charge, with an annual total of MVR 789.8 million.
