Progressive Party of Maldives has been ordered to vacate, H. Hurafa, the building where the office was located.

In a letter, the owner of the house said that the building was allotted “at the request of President Yameen to run president Yameen’s office”. PPM has been asked to vacate the building within a day.

It has been noticed that the party office is now functioning in the rented premises. We have decided to terminate the agreement between the two parties and ask them to vacate the place and hand it over to me by noon today [November 24, 2023].

In a letter, the owner of the house said.

While the building where the party’s office was located was ordered to be vacated, president Yameen, who had differences with the PPM, left the party and started the process of forming a new party.

It is learnt that Yameen’s new party will be submitted to the Election Commission tomorrow.
