The  advisor to President Yameen in PPM, Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has also quit PPM today.

While Dr. Jameel left the party, President Yameen has started the process of forming a new political party. The new party floated by President Yameen will be submitted to the Election Commission tomorrow for registration.

While President Yameen has stepped down as the president of the party and is trying to form a new party, the party leadership has already taken a back seat and withdrew their support that he enjoyed during the last 5 years.

Meanwhile, senior leaders of PPM PNC, who hold key positions in the government, have been tweeting their support for President Muizzu. Meanwhile, the party is preparing for the party’s Senate meeting later in the evening.

President Yameen left PPM after he appointed a steering committee to run the party, which led to the party’s decision to remove some of those involved in the work.

In an interview with an online newspaper last night, Dr. Jameel said that everyone should know what happened inside the party and there was unimaginable infidelity within the party. Dr. Jameel said that president Yameen has been made a non-existent person since President Muizzu came to power and it was done by the party leadership.

In last night’s interview, Jameel said that after taking oath, President Muizzu does not pick President Yameen’s phone calls and that President Muizzu was acting only as per what Abdul Raheem had says.
