The Government of Maldives has formally requested the Government of India to withdraw Indian troops from the Maldives.

The announcement was made by the President’s Office. According to the President’s Office website, the request was made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during a meeting with the Minister of Earth Sciences of India, His Excellency Mr. Kiren Rijiju at the President’s Office today.
