Protesters stage protest outside Parliament demanding ban on Israeli passports

Protesters have staged protest outside the Maldives Parliament demanding a ban on Israelis passports to prevent Israeli tourists from entering the country. Those who went to the parliament gate with various slogans called for a ban on the Israeli passports and a boycott of all brands that fund Israel in order to prevent Israelis from entering the country.

Members of parliament met the crowd as part of the protest, carrying Palestinian flags and posters with various slogans written in defence of the Palestinian people. They include lawmakers from MDP, The Democrats and the PPM.

Following the protests, a meeting of the Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee was abruptly convened after a complaint was filed with the Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee to immediately stop accepting  Israeli passports and arrival of tourists.

More than a month after Israel attacks on Gaza, more than 11,000 people have been killed in the attacks. Most of them are children.
