President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that the positive changes in the government’s efforts to ensure equitable access to basic services for all Maldivians will be visible in all parts of the country today.

He was addressing the nation on the occasion of Republic Day.

In his address to the nation, President said the government had introduced free degrees to all students without discrimination as the education of the children and the health services of the people needs to be fulfilled for Maldives to be a full fledge republic.

Pointing out that the present government has also brought about a positive change in the salaries of the workers, he said that through pay harmonisation, the salaries of education and health professionals have been increased. He also pointed out that the government had sent the budget for 2024 to the Parliament to increase the salaries of the judiciary, the military, the police and all the remaining employees of the government.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration has made significant progress in achieving equitable development in all inhabited islands of the Maldives. These include raising the standard of living of the people and empowering the people to lead a life of pride and dignity.
