Madhanee Abdullah detained in Malaysia

Former Deputy Economic Minister Abdulla Mohamed (Madhanee Abdullah) has been detained at the airport last night after he arrived in Malaysia.

According to sources, Malaysia is in the process of deporting him. According to some media reports, Madhanee Abdullah was detained after his name appeared on the list of people blacklisted by the country following allegations of Terrorism. Sources close to him, however, said that no such allegation has been levelled against him.

“New Line, also learnt that, Madhanee Abdullah has been accused by Malaysian immigration of trying to enter the country without having proper visa arrangements for multiple entries.

He had flown to Malaysia late last night by Batik Airlines. According to sources, he is currently lodged in a detention centre in Malaysia. There has been no official confirmation about the incident so far.
