Former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has said that PPM members will not have to fill up forms for PNC.

Yameen’s senior lawyer and former vice-president Dr. Jameel met with the party members at the party office Last night. Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed and other party supporters were present.

They include Mahibadhoo MP Ahmed Thorigu, Male’ City Deputy Mayor Nareesh and former Communications Minister Mohamed Maleeh Jamal.

Speaking about at the meeting, Dr. Jameel said that PPM is the strongest political party and the aim of the party should be to spread this ideology to the younger generation by informing them the party’s policies.

“None of the party members have to fill their forms to any other party or PNC,” Jameel quoted as saying by Yameen.  “PPM-PNC are two parties of the same ideology and we have to work hard to win the parliamentary elections,” Jameel quoted as saying by President Yameen.

President Yameen met with the party’s supporters this evening after the corrections granted further relaxations to his detention. Yameen was sentenced to 11 years in prison for bribery and money laundering and was placed under house arrest on October 1.
