For accepting the results of the last presidential election, the Election Commission has thanked President Solih for demonstrating an exemplary example.

Speaking at the ceremony held to announce the official results of the presidential elections, Vice President Ismail Habeeb said that those who lost the past presidential elections had rejected the results and made various allegations.

Habeeb said President Solih, who lost this election, showed a good example of democracy.

This time it was a beautiful example of democracy. On behalf of the Election Commission of Maldives, I would like to thank President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for accepting the results of the presidential election in a democratic manner.

Habeeb said.

Habeeb further said that the fact that everything went peacefully in this presidential election is a great boost for the country’s democracy.

PPM/PNC presidential candidate Dr. Mohamed Muizzu won the presidential election with a huge majority. Dr. Muizzu won the election with 54.04 (129,159 votes) of the vote, while President Solih received 45.96 (109,868 votes) of the vote.
