President Yameen has urged PPM/PNC leaders and members of the general public to intensify their street activities until he is free.

President Yameen made the request while addressing his supporters at a function organised by the Hulhumale’ Campaign Team last night. President Yameen said he wanted as many people as possible to be involved in his release. He also said that the police and the armed forces will not be able to resort to violence by carrying out street activities any more.

My party colleagues should have also tried to make the street movement even stronger now. Now there’s no police to pick up and throw you away. Soldiers wont come. can’t come now. The came before not because they wanted to come. All I want to say is increase these numbers and strengthen the work.

– President Yameen said.

President Yameen has said that some senior party leaders, who had earlier come out to free him, are no longer visible.

Usually, in a “Muhavira” word, it is said that the small wheel will turn the way the big wheel turns. That’s why the big wheels have to be turned. These little wheels need to be pushed faster than this. If we do that, we will be able to strengthen our energies. Then only it would be forced this government to release me.

A large number of supporters of PPM-PNC coalition gathered at his residence H. Dhuvehi on Sunday too. They also celebrated his transfer to home. President Yameen is currently serving an 11-year prison term for money laundering.
