“The Democrats” founder, former President Mohammed Nasheed and his presidential candidate Ilyas Labeeb has started their door-to-door campaign in Addu City today. Nasheed and Ilyas Labeeb arrived in Addu city last night. Nasheed was welcomed at the Gan Airport by the party supporters.

Hulhudhoo MP Ilyas Labeeb won “The Democrats” primaries held to determine their candidate for the upcoming presidential elections. With more than 3000 votes, Ilyas won the primaries by securing 94.94 percent of the votes on Friday, July 28. He was the sole candidate contested.

Today morning both, Nasheed and Ilyas bi-cycled in Addu Feydhoo, visiting Feydhoo house holds. Nasheed is expected to inaugurate Iyas’s presidential camapiagn officially in Addu city.
