So far this year, State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) has profited MVR 148 million for the state, says Ministry of Finance.
According to the weekly statistics published by the Finance Ministry, SOEs are expected to pay a total of MVR 1.1 billion of dividend to the government this year. Ministry stated that so far on Only 13 percent of it has been received. 87 percent of the dividend remaining is yet to be received.
Additionally, according the information made public by the Ministry, SOEs earnings from last year were expected to reach MVR 1 billion. However, only MVR 640 million is realised at the end of the year, reaching up to only 60 percent of the expected earning.
The Maldives Airports Company Ltd. (MACL) is projected to pay the highest dividend, expected to receive MVR 537 million as dividend, while Dhiraagu is expected to end the year with second largest amount. As per the projections, Dhiraagu is to receive MVR 250 million as dividends. Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) will be the payer for third largest dividend in the year, a total of MVR 100 million.
