Ali Faiz appointed as the new High Commissioner to Sri Lanka

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Wednesday appointed Ali Faiz as the new High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

The President presented the high commissioner with his letter of credence at a ceremony held at the President’s Office.

Before his new appointment, he had served as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs since November 2022. He has also served as a member of the Police Board since April 2021, member of the People’s Special Majlis for Baa Atoll constituency, and the Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ali Faiz also held several executive positions in both the public and private sectors.
