Maldives and Cambodia Sign Visa-Waiver Agreement

Maldives and Cambodia nationals no longer need a visa when travelling for short stays of up to 30 days, as per the Agreement on Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic, Official, and Ordinary Passports, signed between both the countries today.

This means that Maldives is going to be a visa-free country for Cambodian passport holders and Cambodia is going to be a visa-free country for Maldivian passport holders, for short visits up-to 30 days.

This move will increase the number of countries to which Maldivian passport holders can travel without the need for a visa.

The Maldivian passport currently ranks on the 62nd place according to the Guide Passport Ranking Index. It provides visa-free access to 86 countries.

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, H.E. Abdulla Shahid (ODRI), and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, H.E. Mr Prak Sokhon.

The agreement will ease existing travel restrictions for holders of diplomatic, official, and ordinary passports of both the Maldives and Cambodia and strengthen the socio-economic relationship between the countries.
