President Solih has said he believes a broad coalition is required to the upcoming Presidential Election. He said MDP can manage to reach 48 percent or 49 percent of votes, but the constitution mandates to cross the 50 percent margin to come to power.
no single candidate, no single party has the majority of the general public to declare a popular win.

Speaking at the rally held in R. Meedhoo last night, President Solih also said his administration has delivered services in the interest of the people, and it cannot be compared with any other administration during a five-year term, despite the challenges.
President said he will continue serving the people and he would exercise patience in face of those challenges.
He travelled to N. Atoll on today after concluding his campaign trial in R. Atoll. President Nasheed is currently visiting islands in ADh. Atoll.
MDP Presidential Primary voting will held on January 28.
